Century Organizes Fourth Year of Habitat for Humanity Team Build Events

June 2019 | Century

More than 30 employees from Century’s Hunt Valley office rolled up their sleeves and got to work with Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake on May 29th and 30th, assisting in the construction of homes in Baltimore’s Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood. Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization that invests in communities and their residents by providing opportunities for education, workforce development, and stable, self-reliant home ownership.

Habitat Chesapeake’s life-changing services are made possible in part by corporate entities like Century. In addition to facilitating two Team Build days by way of the Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program, Century, a Family Circle Sponsor, donated $10,000 to the organization. This is Century’s fourth year of Team Build participation.

Jonathan Genn, PE, a Water Resources Engineer at our Hunt Valley office, is responsible for our continued involvement with Habitat. A Habitat for Humanity Red Hat Volunteer, his leadership and dedication to the cause has spawned a Century tradition of Team Build involvement that attracts more participants with every sign-up.

About Volunteer Time Off (VTO)

The VTO program supports community engagement opportunities for Century Engineering employees that help those in need. All full-time employees can use up to eight hours per calendar year on a selected day volunteering with the 501.c.3 organization of their choice.
