Century Engineering was a Level 1 sponsor of the first annual Delaware STEM Goes Red event at Dover Downs on March 19th. The one-day event was hosted by the American Heart Association in alignment with their “Go Red for Women” initiative, and was immediately followed by the Southern Delaware Go Red for Women Luncheon on March 20th.
The ultimate goal of the event is to draw more women to the forefront of cardiology and heart disease prevention by introducing high school freshman and sophomore girls to all of the opportunities available to them in fields related to science, technology, math, and engineering. Although heart disease is the number one killer of women today, a very small number of women are involved in research and other efforts to find the cure.
