NXL, a Kleinfelder Company was the prime consultant for the Chesterfield County on-call construction engineering/inspection contract. This was a high-volume secondary project that consisted of roundabout construction and lighting of an off-set intersection configuration. Due to the location, there was significant heavy commercial carrier traffic that caused project work zone safety challenges.
NXL was responsible for pre-construction and construction services for this project. NXL provided utility relocation inspection, constructability review development, and contract time determination pre-bid schedule. In addition, our construction management and inspection team provided project oversight including QA acceptance testing and oversight of contract QC. NXL was responsible for project documentation, materials notebooks, work zone safety, environmental compliance, and representing the client by interacting with stakeholders throughout the project duration. During this project, NXL worked closely with VDOT and Chesterfield County to mitigate any issues with reimbursement.
