Services from Start to Finish
Century’s civil and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers provided design services from concept phase through construction administration. Outside the building, extensive site improvements and a new-and-improved parking lot required extensive coordination with city and state agencies. Indoors, we provided full HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems that make safe, comfortable living possible.
Affordable Sustainability
With the financial support of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and Baltimore City’s HOME program, M on Madison is a LEED Silver® project. It features a living roof that helps conserve energy and reduce runoff, residential fluorescent lighting fixtures, water-conserving plumbing fixtures, the reduction of impervious area surrounding the property and high-efficiency HVAC equipment installed throughout. An energy model was performed to show that with the combination of the improved envelope and energy efficient equipment, the building is approximately 25 percent more efficient than the International Energy Conservation Code baseline.
Transit Oriented Design
An important aspect of sustainable living is having easy access to resource-saving public transportation options. Located just one block from a Light Rail stop and in the center of a vibrant neighborhood, M on Madison is in a prime location for residents who walk, bike or ride to get around. Built-in bicycle storage and ADA-compliant design ensure residents’ safety and convenience.
