The Lancaster Water Authority needed a new office and garage building in order to continue supporting the efforts of the Department of Public Works. Century was there to help, providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design, energy modeling, and construction administration services for the new space serving the Lancaster Department of Public Works.
Century performed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design for the 40,000 square foot office and garage building. Prior to beginning the design work, Century performed a full building energy model using the schematic architectural package. This model was used to evaluate multiple mechanical system options as well as the architectural assembly composition to aid in the decision-making process on window and insulation performance.
After completion of design, Century’s construction administration professionals guided the project from construction to completion. The project also pursued LEED Silver® certification, and Century performed the commissioning services to meet the LEED® Fundamental Commissioning requirements.
