Progress Made
The project is divided into two primary sections. The first of which, Section A, involved the conversion of local township road Crows Run Road to a state road and is already constructed. Right-of-way activities commenced in August 2014 and after significant design changes, final clearance was certified in October 2016. Century provided appraisal, title, acquisition, and relocation services for the project to acquire real property interests from 44 total parcels.
Recycling Meets Right-of-Way
As part of this phase of the project, three commercial relocations occurred, including a large-scale automotive recycling business on a 30-acre parcel. This property presented a challenge, as it involved significant inventories of machinery, equipment and goods held for sale.
Looking Ahead
The second section, Section B, is currently in final design. Right-of-way acquisition activities commenced in February 2019 for 35 impacted parcels. Three residential relocations are to occur with another two non-residential displacements expected. Construction is projected to begin in 2020 and proceed into 2021.
