The Makings of a Museum
Century provided environmental, temperature, and humidity control; power; lighting; sound attenuation; and data and communications. The exhibit areas are designed to maintain PHMC Category II conditions as the highly sensitive displays are housed in temperature and humidity-controlled cases. Century also handled the overall coordination and integration of various lighting systems and associated dimming controls supporting general museum interior and exterior decorative lighting, artifact displays, interactive audio-visual displays, retail sales, café, office, classroom, egress, and general building lighting. In addition, Century provided fiber optic, cable, telephone, and Category-6 high-speed data and communications pathways and premises wiring systems for the associated interactive exhibits, displays, security systems, commercial sales & ticketing, ATM, wireless internet, and general office Ethernet computing systems supporting the museum’s operations.
