Specific projects include:
50-Year Water and Sewer Master Plan
Following an Initial Engineering Assessment Report, Century was tasked with developing a 50-year Water and Sewer Master Plan. A complete hydraulic system analysis of the water distribution system was performed, and eight primary well sites were identified for future development. The master plan included the development of a project phasing plan for prioritizing project elements such as building water line loops, upgrading filters and tanks and developing new wells and treatment plants.
Loudoun County Sewer System Expansion
Due to failing septic systems in areas of Loudoun County, which adjoins the Town of Hamilton, the Board of Supervisors planned new sewer extensions from the existing Town of Hamilton utility to serve the County customers. Century provided hydraulic modeling of gravity sewer lines and sewage pump stations, and in several instances identified critical restrictions to flow. When the project went to construction, Century was hired to become the construction project manager and project financial accounting officer.
Sewer System Evaluation Survey and Remediation Plan
As part of the Loudoun County sewer system extension project, Century recommended that a sewer system evaluation survey (SSES) be performed to reduce inflow and infiltration flows to the wastewater treatment plant and within the gravity collection system. The SSES project resulted in a 50 percent reduction in average daily flow to the wastewater treatment plant.
Harmony Middle School Pump Station and Force Main
After a review of potential site locations, Loudoun County Public Schools selected a site west of Hamilton for a new middle school. With no public sewer available, Century designed a new sewage pump station and force main to connect both the middle school and a future high school to the town’s sewage collection and treatment utility.
