Route 460 S Curve Realignment

This project includes modifying five existing crossovers, closing one existing crossover, adding one new crossover, two box culvert extensions, three permanent stream relocations, and complete realignment of existing eastbound lanes. This also includes the improvements to add restrictions for some left-turn movements to and from Route 460 and enhancements to facilitate U-turn movements for school bus traffic. This will be done in four phases with an anticipated completion date of June 2022.

Crossovers include:

• Circle K Road Crossover: Prohibits left-turns onto Route 460
• Wilkerson Mill Road Crossover: Prohibits left-turns onto Route 460
• Irving Road Crossover: Prohibits left-turns onto Route 460 and prohibits U-turns in both directions
• Far East Crossover: Prohibits westbound to eastbound U-turns and accommodates U-turns for school buses
• Overhill Trail Crossover: Prohibits left-turns onto Route 460

Project features include road closures, stream restoration using imbricated riprap, cross rock vance installation, reinforced soil slope installation, speed limit reductions, and traffic pattern changes. NXL is providing construction inspection services on this project along with construction management.
