Century prepared design and Contract Documents to replace an existing old 150 g.p.m. sewage pumping station at the Middletown High School, with a 200 g.p.m. sewage pumping station which will allow for future planned expansion of the high school. The old station had submersible pumps within a steel enclosure that was in need of replacement. The new pumping station is equipped with suction lift pumps that are above ground within a precast concrete building enclosure over the wet well. The pumping station building also contains all controls, secondary power backup, and alarm system.
Construction services consisted of shop drawing approvals, site visits, approval of contractor’s monthly estimate, and consultation during construction. All construction permits and approvals were obtained from Frederick County and the State, including, building permit, sediment and erosion control, and Maryland Department of Environment (MDE).
- Meeting FCPS design and construction schedule to cause least inconvenience to the school. Project was bid to ensure most of the construction would take place during the summer months.
