Gettysburg Museum & Visitor Center Receives ACEC/PA 2009 Honor Award

At the ACEC/PA Diamond Awards Banquet held on February 5, 2009 at the Hotel Hershey, Century Engineering, Inc., a Hunt Valley, MD based engineering firm was distinguished with honor awards for their engineering excellence on the Gettysburg Battlefield Museum and Visitors Center project in Adams County, PA under the Building / Technology Systems. The new 139,000 SF Center on 100 acres is a $95 million world class facility worthy of America's most famous civil war site. Designed to accommodate over two million annual visitors, the Center is home to the newly-restored Cyclorama, a 360-degree painting depicting the epic events of July, 1863.
Century Engineering designed heating, cooling, and ventilation systems for the visitor galleries, exhibit space, food service areas, and theaters in the new Center. This LEED® Registered Center incorporates state-of-the-art HVAC systems featuring ground source heat exchange technologies.
