Century Engineering Acquires Benatec Associates and EPSYS Corporation

On March 31, 2008, Century Engineering, Inc., with principal offices located in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, acquired Benatec Associates, and its environmental subsidiary, EPSYS Corporation, both headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This latest expansion of Century brings more than 80 additional staff members to the firm, further bolstering its current Mid Atlantic states markets and establishing a prominence in the Pennsylvania market. “We are pleased to join the strong team at Benatec and EPSYS, and to offer Century’s expanded resources to their faithful clients”, remarked Francis X. Smyth, CEO and President of Century.

Benatec has a long history of working with PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and various public and private entities in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. Combined with Century, Benatec Associates will be a full service engineering firm offering transportation, civil-land development, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, utilities, planning and landscape architecture, surveying, geo-technical and construction inspection. “Century’s strengths nicely compliment and expand the services we have long offered our clients”, says Dick Miller, Benatec’s president.

EPSYS Corporation offers a wide range of environmental remediation services including soil and groundwater remediation and treatment systems, industrial wastewater treatment and storage tank removal/installation services.
