This project involved the construction of a 4,700-foot greenway path beginning at a point near the historic Blue Ball Barn and ending near the old Finishing Mills along the Brandywine River. The path traverses rough terrain and steep grade changes. Innovative techniques blended the path into the surroundings. One such technique was the use of native stone found in the area around Alapocas Creek to line the faces of the bridge abutments. The project met the original concept of providing a safe and environmentally pleasing pathway for pedestrians to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
- Rough terrain and steep grade changes.
