Subsurface Investigations

Century Engineering has extensive experience developing Subsurface Investigations and Geotechnical Laboratory Testing programs specific to the needs of each project. We have experience with various subsurface investigation methods, including standard penetration test borings, rock coring, electronic cone penetrometer and dilatometer borings, in-situ testing, and test pits using conventional backhoe or soil vacuum methods. Our professional staff of engineers and Geologists are experienced in monitoring subsurface investigations, recording subsurface information, observing groundwater levels, and field classifying soils and rock.

At the initial engineering phase of each project, we strongly believe that the subsurface investigation is vital to the success of every project. Therefore, we assign our professional staff to provide on-site supervision of each subsurface investigation. Our professional personnel direct the drilling and sampling operations, acquire a firsthand observation of the soils and subsurface conditions encountered, and gain a better understanding of the subsurface conditions at the site.
