Century Engineering is providing construction inspection services for the Maryland State Highway Administration in various districts throughout the State. Century’s inspectors are assigned to projects which include new construction, bridge deck repairs and replacement, bridge rehabilitation, roadway widening, roadway milling, resurfacing and safety, and intersection improvements. Century’s inspectors are responsible for inspecting all phases of the work and for inspecting and testing materials. In addition, Century’s personnel are responsible for and assist in maintaining and documenting work progress, reviewing of contractor claims, measuring and computing quantities, preparing sketches, updating the project sketch book, and they attend progress meetings and prepare minutes and document force account work. As a part of SHA’s community relations efforts the inspectors may act as liaisons with utilities, local property owners and the driving public.
