Century provided mechanical and electrical design and construction administration services for this two-building retirement complex consisting of a 103,000 square foot 7-story high-rise Independent Living Facility with a link to the 54,000 square foot 5-story Assisted Living Facility. 

The Independent Living Facility included 86 apartments, each with living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and washer/dryer.  The Assisted Living Facility included 88 efficiency units with bedroom and bathroom, some of which were dedicated to Alzheimer's patients.  Other amenities included fitness center, arts & crafts area, community room, bar and lounge, full service kitchen and dining facilities.

• A water source heat pump system utilizing low temperature boilers was designed to complement conventional split system units as a result of our Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA).
• Electrical design required that the Assisted Living and Independent Living buildings be treated as separate structures, while telecommunications design mandated by Verizon only allowed for a single service connection to the community.
• Locations of the two BGE transformers, associated switchgear, and the emergency generator serving the high rise Independent Living building all required close coordination with the civil design due to minimal at-grade space available on the site.
