Century Engineering, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for this 316,000 square foot Independent Living Facility and underground garage located in Prince William County, Virginia.  The building included 290 apartments in a 4-story configuration offering a community room, game room, media room, vending area, utility rooms and administrative offices.  The building also included an outdoor pool and associated pool house with shower and changing facilities.

Common areas of the building were conditioned by split system heat pumps with condensing units located around the building.  These apartments utilized an “Aquatherm” type unit designed to utilize the domestic hot water storage system for space heating in addition to the domestic hot water demand.  Condensing units and hot water heaters for the apartments were located in utility closets adjacent to each apartment balcony.
