This project involved a new 4-story, 58,000 square foot building with full basement to serve as the headquarters of Century Engineering. The building was the first privately owned LEED-NC^® Gold Certified facility in Baltimore, and houses the corporate management and administrative staff as well as all engineering disciplines including MEP, Civil, Structural, Geotechnical and Transportation. Conference rooms and kitchenettes were provided on each floor. A multipurpose room was included for dining, training, etc. Project features include:

• Green power contract
• Gas-fired VAV RTUs sized at 550SF/ton
• Enthalpy wheel energy recovery unit
• Boilers for hydronic VAV box reheat
• LAN room heat exchanger for domestic water preheat
• Web-based building management system
• Reduced lighting power density to 0.7W/SF
• Daylight harvesting for perimeter control
• Low-voltage programmable lighting controls
• Exposed structure in most areas

• High performance building glazing and envelope to achieve LEED-NC^® Gold Certification with a minimal increase in typical office building construction costs related to MEP systems and equipment.
