Century was retained to provide all mechanical and plumbing design services for a new 100,000 square foot Inn & Conference Center addition to an existing building. The addition houses 126 hotel rooms, guest support services, administrative and storage spaces, meeting rooms, and building support spaces.  LEED-NC^® Certification was achieved, with energy performance improved by 30% over the LEED^® Base Line. Project features include:

• High efficiency water cooled chiller.
• High efficiency motors on pumps and large air handling units.
• Variable frequency drives on the hot water and chilled water pumps.
• Primary/secondary loops on the hot water and chilled water system.
• Water economizer through the use of the cooling tower and plate heat exchanger.
• Air to air plate heat exchangers for ventilation air heat recovery.
• Carbon dioxide sensors to help monitor ventilation systems.
• Commissioning program which guarantees and documents that the systems are installed and operated in accordance with the original design intent.

• Tailoring design of all building thermal envelope components to make sure that each individual component worked as a high efficiency system.
