This project involved state highway improvements associated with redevelopment of the approximate 70-acre former AMP headquarters site as the new TecPort Business Technology campus. The project was a public-private partnership between Crossgates, Inc. and Swatara Township. This fast track project included roadway widening and intersection improvements, which consisted of converting approximately one mile of existing one-way Paxton Street (2 lanes) to two-way traffic (3 and 4 lanes) from the Harrisburg Mall to Eisenhower Boulevard. The project also included widening of Eisenhower Boulevard from 3 lanes to 5 lanes with eastbound turning movements, installation of 4 new traffic signals, and signalized improvements to two additional off-site intersections of SR 441.
- Coordinating closely with ongoing site master planning and land development activities at the TecPort Business Campus.
- Preparing the traffic impact study for both re-development and conversion from one-way to two-way traffic.
