Replacement of the existing structure, a historic single-span truss bridge built in the late 1800s with a new two-span pre-stressed concrete bridge structure. The bridge spans the Yellow Breeches Creek.
- Roadway alignment was chosen to minimize impacts to adjacent wetlands and to not impact a nearby historic district.
- Environmental clearance needed to satisfy federal and state criteria.
- Architectural enhancements were utilized to blend in with the rural historic setting.
- New curved roadway alignment replaced the existing broken back curve.
- Straight pre-stressed concrete box beams on a curved deck and severely skewed substructures required complex detailing of the structure elements.
